Slingbox SlingPlayer iPhone & iPod Touch Application Now Available on App Store

If you happen to own a Slingbox and you have either an iPhone or an iPod Touch you may be interested to know that the official SlingPlayer iPhone and iPod Touch application from Sling Media is now available to purchase via the Apple App Store.

The SlingPlayer application, which, incidentally, will only work via Wi-Fi thanks to certain carriers (AT&T) having some issue with the bandwidth required by the application, will allow you to scroll through your favourite and home channels using the iPhone/iPod Touch’s gesture controls and, as well as watching content via your Slingbox will additionally allow you to add and remove (thus manage) your Slingbox directly from the aforementioned devices.

The Slingbox SlingPlayer iPhone and iPod Touch application will set you back just shy of $30.

Radius TruTune Fine Color iPod Nano 4G Earphones

Radius have released their new Radius TruTune Fine Color range of earphones that have been designed specifically for use with Apple’s iPod Nano 4G and which come in nine separate colors allowing you to match the Radius TruTune Fine Color earphones with the specific hue of your 4G Nano.

Billed as being ’stylish, unpretentious and universally affordable’ whilst offering ‘a fusion of fashion and function’, the new Radius TruTune Fine Color earphones are fabricated from lightweight aluminium, come provided with three sizes of silicone caps to ensure maximum comfort and feature gold plated stereo mini plugs but, interestingly, Radius appear to omit those all important details such as maximum output and (more importantly) details concerning frequency response (like us, you’ll doubtless draw your own conclusions here).

In terms of pricing, the Radius TruTune Fine Color iPod Nano 4G Earphones will set you back $20 a pop. [source]

iPhone, 3G iPhone & iPod Touch Landscape TouchType Application by Michael Schneider

One of the many quibbles concerning the iPhone and the iPod Touch’s operating systems is the lack of a landscape facility in a host of key applications such as when composing emails but, thanks to Michael Schneider’s TouchType application – which is compatible with the iPhone, 3G iPhone and iPod Touch – wider, landscape orientated touch typing will, at long last, soon be possible.

Allowing you to compose text, such as when writing emails, whilst in landscape orientation (thus allowing a wider, more versatile and, frankly, decidedly more practical means of input), Michael Schneider’s TouchType application comes complete with mini QWERTY and numeric virtual keypads and a text entry window and, having composed your mail, its nice to know that it also features a ‘Send’ button which pulls up the mail application and automatically adds your text to the message body.

No word as yet concerning the exact date of availability, however, Michael Schneider’s TouchType application already has a page up on Apple’s iTunes Application Store (as linked below).
